Today I'm sharing some lovely images from our maternity photo shoot taken by my talented friend and film photographer Coco Tran. Our hearts are so full as we prepare to welcome a new life into this world.
The path to motherhood has been wrought with so many new experiences. From the moment we found out the great news, our hearts wept for joy...and for the first time, I experienced the intense feeling of loving another person who was barely the size of a sesame seed without even knowing who exactly this little person was or would be. And this love has only grown stronger with each passing day as the little nugget's kicks and jabs provide me with a constant reminder that there is life inside of me...a life that is pure and innocent; a life that is entirely up to me to nourish and protect. And it all seems so surreal, but in the most magical way imaginable.
My first trimester felt like I was on a trip to crazy town as I could barely keep my head up after being diagnosed with a severe case of morning sickness, more specifically, hyperemesis gravidarum, which only affects...get this: 1% of all pregnant ladies (including the Duchess), and of course, I get knocked with this diagnosis which essentially rocked my entire world for nearly 4 grueling months. And it was during these first few weeks of morning sickness when my little person was merely a little blueberry that I flew to NYC to style a clam bake photo shoot with some darling creatives, and while it was fun, it also left me shunning the likes of all things seafood for quite some time. And you can imagine how repulsed I was at the thought of food, especially the stench of foods that I had been been known to love: fresh garlic, cilantro, and even the horrid odor of steamed rice. And being an avid foodie with such a vivid imagination was no help because the mere thought of food also conjured up its smell for me. But then, like magic, I slowly regained my health & appetite and my second trimester was, as many mothers had rightfully predicted, the honeymoon phase. I cooked, ate, and slept to my heart's content...all while reveling in the the physical and emotional changes of my body. And I've never been more mesmerized by the strength of the female anatomy--that our uterus can go from the size of our fists to that that of a soccer ball still fascinates me. And then my third trimester has been a period of anticipation and constantly imagining how this little person will choose to make an entrance into the world. And throughout all this, I count my blessings that I have a husband whose love and support has known no bounds, and for the very best of friends and family whose love and thoughtfulness makes me realize just how lucky our little nugget already is and will be for this life.

And thanks to an amazing dream team comprised of the sweetest ladies in this creative industry, I had the best pregnancy glow to boot. I can't tell you how much talent was on hand that day to make up this momma-to-be.
